Paul F. Strasser, 87, of Sandusky, passed away early Thursday evening, December 21, 2017, at the Providence Care Center, in Sandusky.
   Born on August 30, 1930, in Lakeside, OH the son of Fred Albrecth and Cecelia Mary (Geisman) Strasser.  He was a 1948 graduate of Sandusky High School.  Paul was a veteran, having served honorably in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.  He was a diesel mechanic having owned and operated, Strasser's Garage for many years.  Paul also, with his wife Virginia, was involved with Firelands Income Tax  and Realty II.  For years, he was a well known race car driver, having raced at the Attica Speedway, Sandusky Speedway and the Fremont Speedway, where he was a member of the Hall of Fame, and at several other popular race tracks.
   Paul was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, the American Legion Post # 83, a life member of the AMVETS Post #17 and a life member of the V.F.W. Post # 2529.
   He is survived by his nieces and nephews.
   Paul was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 52 years, Virginia A. (Brunner) Strasser on November 26, 2006; and three brothers, Fred, Donald and Thaddeus Strasser.
   Visitation will be held Thursday morning, December 28, 2017, from 8:30 am until time of prayers at 9:30 am at the David F. Koch Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 520 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 am at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 429 Central Avenue, Sandusky.  Fr. Jeff Walker officaiting.  Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Sandusky.  Military honors will be conducted by the American Legion Post # 83 Color Guard.
   The family suggests that memorial contributions may be in his name to Cancer Services of Erie County, 505 E. Perkins Avenue, Sandusky, OH or to St. Mary's Catholic Church 429 Central Avenue, Sandusky, OH 44870.
