Sorry for your loss. My thoughts and prayer's to you and your family. He was such a nice man. I enjoyed his humor when I delivered his lunch.

Milton’s Family & Friends:

I am sure myself and my family is a few of about a million people Milton had an influence on that you do not know. That’s OK. Milton was my Dad’s (Roland Qualman’s) really good friend for many years. Milton was constantly around visiting in the hospital when my Dad died 42 years ago. He was truly a pest. I was 17 and way too young to understand this guy who gave everything and asked nothing in return. Yes, that would be Milton. Now I know Milton had a good role model, Jesus. Dad died of lung cancer, Mom moved to Florida, my sisters found their way to Chicago and Newark, Ohio, respectively, and I ended up in Texas. All good and God’s plan. We are all very happy. Many years later Mom remarried and Milton, who was now “official” in the Catholic Church, married them in Sandusky. That was really cool and one of the best moments in all our lives!

I’m sure Milton didn’t know he set a good example for me. I was raised Catholic, left the church for many years, and eventually came back to the Christian faith as a Methodist. I’m sure Milton would think that’s pretty cool; God’s servant.

My Mom says: we loved him and we were blessed to have him as a friend. Like all of us, she is very sad that her really good friend is gone but we have all the memories! Amen to that!

My sisters wish to express Milton is one of the community of saints now. Amen to that too!
With much sadness and joy,

Lenore Neuenschwander, Hilton Head Island, South Carolina
Linda Russell, Hilton Head Island, South Carolina
Karen Hunter, Newark, Ohio
Al Qualman, Arlington, Texas

Deacon Milt spoke to my religion class at St. Mary Central Catholic HS in 1987 about his experience being the first permanent deacon in the diocese.

I was also an altar server and remember he was very friendly.

He was good friends with my grandpa, Raymond Riedy.

I was an altar boy at Sts. Peter and Paul's back in the late 70's when Milt first became Deacon. He was always very friendly and a pleasure to serve with.
