Edward A. Zeigler, 67, of Sandusky passed away unexpectedly early Monday afternoon, April 10, 2017, at his home.
   Born on February 2, 1950, in Attica, OH the son of Edward Eugene and Leona Pearl "Flip" (Carpenter) Zeigler.  Ed was a 1968 graduate of Sandusky High School.  For nearly 40 years, he was a union carpenter by trade having worked out of the Local Carpenter Union # 744, before retiring.  
   Ed was all about his family and especially his grandchildren.  He also enjoyed coaching, and over the years had coached different baseball teams, as well as, his son's Little League team.  He also had been involved with Perkins High School sports as a videographer , recording games, for a few years.    After retiring, he took a job at the Norwalk Speedway which involved tending to the grounds and manning the fuel pumps.
   Ed was a former member of the Sons of the American Legion, the Sons of AMVETS and the Perkins Booster Club.
   He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Mary Ann (Collins) Zeigler, whom he married on February 3, 1978; a son, Kevin (Edije) Zeigler of Huron; and a daughter, Jenny (Matthew) Haflett of Fairborn ; two grandchildren, Alyssa and Nathan Zeigler; and his equals and companions, his dogs, Roscoe and Barney.
   Ed was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister Trudy Lippus.
   At his request, cremation has taken place.  The family will receive friends on Thursday afternoon, April 13, 2017, from 4 pm until time of the memorial service at 6 pm at the David F. Koch Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 520 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky.
   In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions may be made in his name to one's favorite charity.
