Walter E. "Wally" Windnagle, 76, of Sandusky, passed away peacefully late Monday afternoon, January 11, 2021, in the Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky.
Born on September 19, 1944, in Norwalk, OH the son of Ernest Paradise and Helen May (Lamb) Windnagle. He was a 1962 graduate of Monroeville High School.
Wally, over the years had worked at the Scott Paper Company, in Sandusky, then at Janesville Cotton, in Norwalk, and later retired from Sam Stein Associates, in Sandusky, where he had worked for over 10 years. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.
Wally is survived by a daughter, Kris M. (Felix) Soler of Eads, TN; a son, Thomas A. (Anna) Kerstetter of Austin, TX; six grandchildren, Isabella, Elijah, Logan, Meghan, Olivia and Cooper; a brother, Robert "Bob" Windnagel of Norwalk ; a sister-in-law, Marguerite E. "Peggy" Windnagle of Sandusky; a brother-in-law, Frank J. Vaccaro, Sr. of Sandusky; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 37 years, Ruth Ann (Smith) Windnagle on September 29, 2015; two sisters, Martha A. "Marti" Vaccaro (2018) and Marilyn Borgenson (2007); and two brothers, John F. Windnagle (2018) and Ernest A. "Ernie" Windnagle (2007).
Private family visitation to be held. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Wally on Tuesday morning, January 19, 2021, at 10 am at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 429 Central Avenue, Sandusky. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Sandusky.
The family suggests that memorial contributions may be made in his memory to St. Mary's Catholic Church, 429 Central Avenue, Sandusky, OH 44870 or to Stein Hospice Service, Inc., 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, OH 44870.
