Verla Munger Obituary

Verla M. "Cricket" Munger, 83, of Sandusky, passed away early Friday afternoon, March 5, 2021, at the MetroHealth Medical Center, in Cleveland, OH after a lengthy illness.
   Born on September 6, 1937, in Sandusky, OH the daughter of Leonard J. and Mabel Elizabeth (Moore) Winland.  She had attended Perkins High School.  For nearly 20 years, Verla had worked as the Deli Manager at the Convenient Food Mart, on E. Perkins Avenue, before retiring.
   She loved spending time with her family and the grandchildren and was a "Grandma" to everyone she would come in contact with.  Her family will remember her how she loved to go shopping and take trips to the Casinos to gamble or to the Home and Garden Show. 
   Verla was a life member of the AMVETS Post # 17 Ladies Auxiliary and had volunteered over the years in the Canteen Shop at the Ohio Veterans Home.
   She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Ralph E. Munger, Jr.,  whom she married on March 23, 1980; two daughters, Amy (Ernie) Studebaker of Tawas, MI and Lori (Jason) Polak of Vermilion; her two sons, Rolland "Chip" (Diana) Nath of Sandusky and Michael Wilson of Sandusky; 15 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; a sister, Lynne (Gary) James of Sandusky; a brother, Scott (Joan) Winland of Sandusky; and nieces, nephews and other relatives.
   Verla was preceded in death by her parents; two daughters, Kathy Callipare and a daughter and a son in infancy, Kim Nath and Tim Nath; and a grandson, Brett Holmes.
   It was her wish to be cremated.  Private family services will be held at a later date.
   The family suggests that memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the family.
   Arrangements are entrusted to the David F. Koch Funeral and Cremation Services, 520 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky.
