Thomas 'Budda' Allen Reed

Thomas A. "Budda" Reed, 73, of Sandusky, passed away peacefully early Saturday morning, July 18, 2020, in the Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky, after a lengthy battle with cancer. 
   Born on May 15, 1947, in Sandusky, OH the son of Raymond Elwood and Helen (Creveling) Reed.  Tom was a 1967 graduate of Sandusky High School.  He was a veteran, having served honorably in the U.S. Navy as a Navy Seal during the Vietnam War.  Tom retired from Delphi (New Departure-Hyatt, Inc. a Division of General Motors) where he had worked for 30 years, retiring in November 2007.     
   He was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church, the Holy Name Society, the U.A.W. Local # 913, a life member of the V.F.W. Post # 2529 and a member of the American Legion Post # 83.
   Tom is survived by his wife of 52 years, Sherrie M. (Herman) Reed whom he married on March 2, 1968; two daughters, Paula Ann (Tom) Chotkevys of Tiffin and Heather Ann Marks of Clyde; two grandchildren, Jacob Reed Chotkevys and Mary Allison Chotkevys; and a step-granddaughter, Kaila Marks; two nieces, Marissa Walker and Kelly Herman; a nephew, Kyler Herman; and his cousin, Rick (Carole) Emminger of Sandusky.
   Preceded in death by his parents.
   Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 22, 2020, from 5-7 pm at the David F. Koch Funeral and Cremation Services, 520 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky.  Due to the COVID-19 health concerns, wearing of masks (will be offered) and social spacing will be recommended.  If you're uneasy about attending, please feel free to leave a message to the family on the website.  Graveside services will be held at 11 am Thursday morning, July 23, 2020, at Calvary Cemetery, Sandusky.   Fr. Chris Jesudhason officiating.  Military honors will be conducted by the American Legion Post # 83 Color Guard.
