Theodore Goodwin Obituary

 Theodore Joseph "Ted" Goodwin, 67, of Sandusky, passed away late Thursday morning, May 6, 2021, surrounded by his family in the Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky. 
   He was born in Toledo, OH on March 13, 1954.  The son of Lloyd Norman "Bud" and Roberta Nina (Kloeppel) Goodwin.
   He spent elementary school years in Bellevue, OH before his family moved to Sandusky.  Ted attended Sandusky High School and graduated in 1972.  After graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy, serving during the Vietnam War, from 1972 - 1976.
   After the Navy, Ted and his family moved to Georgia where he was employed as a welder at and retired from Lockheed-Martin.  Ted was devoted to his family, especially his grandchildren.  He loved music of all kinds, boating, being in and around the water.  Ted played softball, disc golf, and coached wrestling for Marietta High School.  He also coached his 
sons' teams in baseball and wrestling.
   After retirement, he reconnected with his grade school sweetheart, Margie Sidoti.  Together they travelled between Florida, Georgia and Sandusky visiting family and friends.  Their years together were full of love, laughter, and joy.
   Ted is survived by his partner, Margie (Sidoti) Waddington; sons, Justin (Angela) Goodwin, Nathan (Charity) Goodwin, and Zane (Chelsea) Goodwin; his grandchildren, Karyssa, Alex, Niam, Maddox, Ezra, Harmony, Shiloh, Malachi, Moriah, and Chandler; his brothers, Dan (Susan) Goodwin and Scott (Katherine) Goodwin; his stepbrothers, Dan Allen and Rory (Lynn) Allen; his stepsister, Mary Beth (Bonna) Zachary; a maternal aunt, Ann Holt and family; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
   He was preceded in death by his father, Lloyd "Bud" Goodwin; his mother, Roberta (Kloeppel) Goodwin; his stepmother, Elizabeth Goodwin; his maternal grandparents, Robert and Nina Kloeppel; and a niece, Kelly Goodwin. 
   It was his wish to be cremated.  A private family "Celebration of Life" service will be held at a later date.  Burial will be in McPherson Cemetery, in Clyde, OH.
   The family suggests that memorial contributions may be made in his name to  American Cancer Society, 740 Commerce Drive, Suite B, Perrysburg, OH 43551 or to Stein Hospice Service, 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, OH 44870.
