Susan Rose (Lagando) Groscost

 Susan R. Groscost, 74, of Sandusky, passed away peacefully late Wednesday afternoon, March 14,2018, surrounded by her family at the University of Toledo Medical Center, in Toledo, OH.
   Born on September 16, 1943, in Sandusky, OH the daughter of Joseph Patsy and Ethel Martha (Wargo) Lagando.  Sue was a 1961 graduate of Huron High School and went on to graduate, in 1963, from The Ohio State School of Cosmetology, in Columbus, OH.  Sue had been a licensed beautician for nearly 40 years and also had worked for a number of years at St. Mary's High School in the cafeteria.  She enjoyed cooking,but she especially loved spending time with her family and the grandchildren.
   Sue was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church where she had served as the Church Sacristan for nearly 40 years.
   She is survived by her husband of 51 years, James G. Groscost, II whom she married on May 7, 1966; two daughters, Ann (Jorge) Polanco of Dublin and Martha E. (Patrick) Kennedy of Streetsboro;  and a son, Arthur G. (Jennifer) Groscost of S. Elgin, IL; six grandchildren, Jose',Sean, Glenn, Emma, Nora and Delaney; and a brother, Edward "Duke" (Mary) Lagando of Huron.
   Sue was preceded in death by her parents.
   At her request, visitation will be private.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for her Friday morning, March 23, 2018, at 10 am at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 510 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky.  Fr. Frank Kehres, Fr. John Missler and Fr. Joe Steinbauer will be officiating.  Burial will be in Meadow Green Memorial Park, in Huron, OH.
  In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made in her memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959 or to the Sandusky Central Catholic School Endowment Fund, 410 W. Jefferson Street, Sandusky, OH 44870.
