Stephen John Silverwood

 Stephen J. Silverwood, 52, of Sandusky, passed away unexpectedly late Saturday evening, November 6, 2021, at Firelands Regional Medical Center, Main Campus, Sandusky.
   Born on January 20, 1969, in Sandusky, OH the son of Howard Leo and Mary Ellen (Bettinger) Silverwood.  He was a 1988 graduate of Sandusky High School.  For a while, Stephen had owned and operated the Silverwood's Tavern in Vero Beach, FL.  He eventually moved back to the Sandusky area in 2011 and most recently he had been working at I.A.C. in Huron, OH.
   He'll be remembered by his family, as though he was an "old lovable dog," as one who was very kind, never complained, was always cheerful and pleasant to everyone, and would keep those around him laughing.  Also, he loved his animals, especially those four stray neighborhood cats he would tend to.   Stephen loved all sports, especially the Cleveland Indians, Browns and the Cavaliers.  He was known to be a true collector of the local sports teams memorabilia from hats, shirts and pennants, he would collect it all.
   Stephen is survived by his sister, Lori M. Loreno, whom he would lovingly refer to as his "Sister" of Sandusky; his brother, Charlie Silverwood of Vero Beach, FL; a nephew, Lance (Anna) Loreno; his great niece, Theadora; a great nephew, Gero; and his maternal uncle, Richard Bettinger; and his many other cousins, relatives and special friends.
   He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother-in-law, Keith N. Loreno, Sr..
   It was his wish to be cremated.  The family will receive friends on Tuesday morning, November 16, 2021, from 9 am until time of the memorial service at 11 am at the David F. Koch Funeral and Cremation Services, 520 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky.  Deacon Jeff Claar officiating.
   The family suggests that memorial contributions may be made in his memory to Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 510 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky, OH 44870 or to the American Diabetes Association, Cleveland/Ohio Lakefront Office, 4500 Rockside Road, Suite 440, Independence, OH 44131.
