Stephen Sartor Obituary

  Stephen J. Sartor, 71, of Perkins Township, passed away early Wednesday evening, October 24, 2018, at Firelands Regional Medical Center, Main Campus, Sandusky.
   He was born on July 23, 1947 in Sandusky, OH and was a lifelong area resident.  He graduated from St. Mary's Central Catholic High School in 1965 and was a U.S. Navy veteran who served during the Vietnam War.  Stephen was also a member of the American Legion Post # 83 and a life member of AMVETS Post # 17.
   He retired from G & C Foundry in 2004 after 39 years of service.  Stephen enjoyed gardening, reading and was an avid genealogist who amassed a database of over 4,000 related individuals dating back to the late 1600's.
   He is survived by a son, Travis C. Sartor of Huron, OH; two brothers, Daniel J. (Cyndi Keene) Sartor of Hillsboro, Oregon and Michael J. (Debbie) Sartor of Berlin Heights, OH; two sisters, Sr. Mary M. Sartor, S>N>D> of Whitehouse, OH and Geriann M. Sartor of Sandusky, OH; and his life partner of 35 years (1982), Gloria H. Schnurr.
   Stephen was preceded in death by his parents, Dell J. and Mary M. (Malahy) Sartor; a son, Skyler C. Sartor (2018); and an infant brother, Michael J. Sartor.
   It was Stephen's wishes to be cremated and to have his cremains placed into the ocean through the U.S. Navy Burial at Sea Program, in Jacksonville, FL.
