Stephanie Maryanne (Filipucci) Knauer

   Stephanie M. Knauer, 81, of  Sandusky, OH passed away early Sunday morning, August 27, 2023, at Firelands Regional Medical Center, Main Campus, Sandusky, after a brief illness.

   Born on June 1, 1942, in Sandusky, OH the daughter of Battista and Eleanor (Berti) Filipucci.  Stephanie was a graduate of St. Mary's High School.  She will be remembered by her family how she loved to cook, gardening, reading and spending time with her family.  She was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church.

   Stephanie is survived by her husband of 59 years, Eugene "Gene" Knauer; her daughter, Vickie (Mike Andrews) Ayers; and her son, Jason Knauer both of Sandusky;  her four grandchildren, Joseph and Zander Knauer, Carlie and Corey Ayers; and numerous nieces and nephews  

   She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Eugenia "Genie" Blair; and two brothers, Robert Rumford and Ernie Filipucci.

   It was her wish to be cremated.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for her on Friday morning, September 1, 2023, at 10 am at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 510 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky, OH.  Fr. Monte Hoyles officiating.

   The family suggests that memorial contributions may be made in her name to Cancer Services of Erie County, 505 E. Perkins Avenue, Sandusky, OH 44870.

   Arrangements are entrusted to the David F. Koch Funeral and Cremation Services, 520 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky.
