Sidney "Sid" Hill, 75, of Sandusky, formerly of Detroit, MI, passed away peacefully with family at his side early Sunday morning, March 14, 2021, at his home.
Born on February 14, 1946, in Detroit, MI, the son of Clarence Edward and Henrietta Marion (White) Hill. Sid had worked for General Motors (Delphi) for 30 years, retiring in 2000. Over the years, he enjoyed playing pool and been a member of the Monday night "Cue Club." Sid was known to his family and friends as "The Handyman," he would fix or do anything for anyone. He was a member of the Local # 913.
Sid is survived by his wife of 54 years, Vera D. (Russell) Hill, whom he married on December 18, 1965; his family, Donyale Robinson, Richard (Santeria) Hill and Cyd-Cheresse (Terry) Hill-Butler; six grandchildren and a great-grandchild; his sister, Deborah (Thomas)Thomas; and two brothers, Clarence (Valerie) Hill and Dillman "Kip" Hill; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Jesselyn T. Hill; and two brothers, Richard and Agard Hill.
It was his wish to be cremated. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Detroit, MI.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made in his memory to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
