Shirley J. Ellis, 90, of Sandusky, passed away peacefully early Monday morning, June 29, 2026 at The Willows at Bellevue, in Bellevue, OH.

   Born on November 5, 1935, in Sandusky, OH the daughter of Charles and Ruth (Rice) Lentz.  She was a graduate of Margaretta High School.  Shirley had worked for over 30 years at New Departure-Hyatt Inc. (a Division of General Motors) and later at Fisher Body, in Mansfield, before retiring.

   She enjoyed spending time with the family and the grandchildren and, in her earlier days, she enjoyed camping with the family and bowling.  Shirley will be remembered by her family for how she had a love for her animals. 

   She is survived by her daughter, Jamie Ross; a grandson, Todd (Krystal) Ross; a granddaughter, Amanda (Zach) Moore; and her four great-grandchildren.

   Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Willie R. Ross; and three sons in infancy.

   Funeral services will be private.  Burial will be in Meadow Green Memorial Park, in Huron, OH. 

   The family suggests that memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Humane Society of Erie County, 1911 Superior Street, Sandusky, OH 44870.
