Scott W. Love, 65, of Sandusky, passed away early Monday morning, February 28, 2022, after a 8 month long battled with cancer at Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky, with his loving family by his side.
Born on November 27, 1956, In Sandusky, OH the son of James Huntley and Marji May (Burdue) Love. He was a 1975 graduate of Perkins High School. Scott was a veteran having served honorably in the U. S. Air Force and the Air National Guard. He was a journeyman tool and die maker having worked at New Departure-Hyatt Inc., later Delphi Inc. (a division of General Motors) for over 25 years, before retiring.
Scott will be remembered by his family as being fiercely patriotic, loved spending time with his family, all forms of auto racing, camping and how he had coached two generations of his children (son and grandson) in the VFW Youth Baseball League.
He was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ., in Milan.
Scott is survived by his wife of 43 years, Bobbi Jean (Hermes) Love, whom he married on October 27, 1979; his son, Jeremy (Melanie) Love; his grandson, Gideon (his girlfriend, Julia Lower) Love, all of Sandusky; his two brothers, Thomas (Helen) Love of Monroeville and Steve (Reba) Love of Norwalk, OH; and his nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be held on Friday morning, March 4, 2022, from 10 am until time of the funeral service at 11 am at St. John's United Church of Christ, 2712 W. Mason Road, Milan, OH. Rev. Wendy Schindler-Chasney officiating. Burial will be in the St. John's United Church of Christ Cemetery, Milan.
The family suggests that memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the St. John's United Church of Christ Church, 2712 W. Mason Road, Milan, OH 44846 or to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
