Sally L. (Steinen) Pepitone Dibari

Sally L. Pepitone Dibari, 82, of Sandusky, passed away peacefully late Wednesday evening, November 4, 2020, with family at her side at The Cleveland Clinic, Cleveland, OH after a brief illness.
   Born on February 6, 1938, in Sandusky, OH the daughter of Gilbert David and Thelma Katherine (Galloway) Steinen, Sr..  She was a 1956 graduate of St. Mary's High School.  In her earlier days, before being married, Sally had worked at the Sandusky Foundry and later at Ohio Bell.  Once she was married, Sally dedicated herself in taking care of her home, her family and the grandchildren.  She will be remembered by her family how she loved to cook and bake for them, work on jig saw puzzles and play cards with her many friends.  But she especially enjoyed, over the years, tending to her flowers in the yard and the garden and  taking time to bird watch as she cared for her bird feeders in the yard.
   Sally was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church where she volunteered making dishes for the bereavement committee; also a member of the AMVETS, the American Legion and the V.F.W..
   She is survived by her husband of 32 years, Vito Dibari, whom she married on June 4, 1988; her family, Randy (Alanna) Pepitone of Ft. Myers, FL, Connie (Gary) Pepitone Terry of Abilene, TX, Ginny (Larry) Gerold, Jr. of Sandusky, Tim (Terese) Pepitone of Sandusky, Debbie (Bill) Kyle and David (Kathy) Dibari of Sandusky; 19 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Doris (Harry) McGookey of Sandusky and Mary Petrie of Texas; her brother, Gilbert "Gil" Steinen, Jr. of Huron; and several nieces and nephews.
   Sally was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, William S. Pepitone (1975); her son, Steven C. Pepitone (1985); a sister, Betty Carlsen; and a brother, David Steinen.
   Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 10, 2020, from 3-7 pm at the David F. Koch Funeral and Cremation Services, 520 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky.  Due to the COVID-19 health concerns, wearing of face masks (they will be offered) and social distancing will be mandatory.  If you are uneasy about attending, please feel free to leave a message to the family on the website.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Sally on Wednesday morning, November 11, 2020, at 10 am at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 510 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky.  Fr. Zack Brown officiating.  Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Sandusky.
