Ruth E (Hunker) Ehrnsberger

  Ruth E. (Hunker) Ehrnsberger, 87, of Sandusky, passed away late Thursday morning, October 25, 2018, at Admiral's Pointe Nursing and Rehabilitation, in Huron, OH.
   Born on September 13, 1931, in Sandusky, OH the daughter of Owen and Dorothy (Grohe) Hunker.  She had attended Sandusky Local Schools.  Ruth had worked for several years at the J.C. Penney Company, Inc..  Throughout the years, she enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening, keeping dairies and spending time with her family.  In her earlier days, she had been involved for a number of years in the local bowling leagues.  Ruth was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.
   She is survived by her husband of 69 years. Donald S. Ehrnsberger ; her daughter, Beverly J. (Dennis) Faber of Sandusky; four grandchildren, Jennifer (Derek) Guerra, Shelley (John) Tobin, Joshua (Kristin) Wahl and Jacob (Christa) Wahl; seven great-grandchildren, Reid Guerra, Faith, Olivia and Jack Tobin, Colin and Madisyn Wahl and Chloe Wahl; two sisters, Shirley Watts of Colorado and Mary Boissoneault of Sheffield Lake, OH; three sister-in-laws, Barbara Hunker, Jean Hunker and Rennie Funni; and numerous nieces and nephews.
   Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Susan Wahl; a sister, Lois Winland; and seven brothers, Jimmie, Rich, Louis, Sam, George, Paul and Bert Hunker.
   Visitation will be held Monday morning, October 29, 2018, from 9 am until time of the Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 429 Central Avenue, Sandusky, OH. 
   Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Sandusky.  Following the services a luncheon will be held in the Commons area back at church.
   In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made in her memory to the Humane Society of Erie County, 1911 Superior Street, Sandusky, OH 44870.
   Arrangements are entrusted to the David F. Koch Funeral and Cremation Services, 520 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky.
