Ronald P. "Rocket" Ruthsatz, 67, of Sandusky, passed away unexpectedly early Thursday morning, October 7, 2021, at his home from natural causes. Ron was a good person with a Big Heart; he loved his family especially his 3 children and his 3 grandchildren. Some pain cannot be captured by words, especially when one passes way before his time.
Born on December 7, 1953, in Sandusky, OH the son of Julian P. "Jim" and Geraldine Ann "Gerri" (Kaman) Ruthsatz. He was a 1972 graduate of St. Mary's Catholic High School. For many years he had worked with his father at J & D Auto Wrecking as an automobile mechanic and an auto body artist (or specialist). Ron loved fishing, boating, playing dart ball and hunting, He enjoyed watching sports; the Cleveland Indians, Browns, Cavaliers and The Ohio State Buckeyes were his favorites. He also had a passion for playing Pool and did not travel without his pool stick. He was a Shark.
Ron is survived by his daughter, Shannon (Bill) Smith of Sandusky; his son, Corey (Katie) Ruthsatz of Copley, OH; three grandsons, Billy, Sawyer and Teddy; ; his father, Jim Ruthsatz; a brother, James "Jim" (Joanne) Ruthsatz; his sisters, Barb (Ralph) Schmidt, Judy Ruthsatz, Linda (David) Renwand, Debra (Dan) Myers and Amy (Patrick Coiffard)Rayo; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Katlyn M. Ruthsatz (2016); his mother, Gerri Ruthsatz (2016), and his former wife, Linda LaMarca (2012).
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 12, 2021, from 4-7 pm at the David F. Koch Funeral and Cremation Services, 520 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky. Following visitation a "Celebration of Life" will be held for Ron at Kaman's Korner, 1328 Milan Road, Sandusky, from 7 p.m -9 p.m . A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday morning, October 13, 2021, at 10 am at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 429 Central Avenue, Sandusky. Fr. Zachary Brown officiating. Following the funeral service cremation will take place. Entombment will be held at a later date in the Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum, Sandusky.
