Roland J. "Jim" Kramer, 77, of Huron, OH passed away peacefully early Sunday morning, January 2, 2022, at University Hospitals of Cleveland, Cleveland, OH, after a lengthy illness.
Born on August 10, 1944, in Sandusky, OH the son of Roland Frederick and Katherine (Fisher) Kramer. He was a 1962 graduate of St. Mary's Catholic High School and later went on to graduate from Bowling Green State University where he received his Bachelor and Masters in Business Administration. He was a member of the Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity at BGSU. Jim had worked at Sandusky Ford in various supervisory roles for nearly 40 years, retiring in 2003.
In years past, Jim had coached his kids in various sports and was involved in Punt Pass & Kick. In his later years he enjoyed attending his grandchildren's sporting events and their different activities. He had also been a School Board member at St. Mary's Catholic High School.
Jim was a longtime member of St. Mary's Catholic Church where he had been a Eucharistic Minister and the Head Supervisor of the Sunday Collections. Jim had also, with his wife, Sue Ann, co-chaired the Fall Festival for the church for some time. He was a former member of the Sandusky Elks Lodge and the Sandusky Jaycee's.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Sue Ann (Gundlach) Kramer, whom he married on June 14, 1969; his daughter, Beth (James) Lindon of Avon, OH; his son, Jamie (Shannon) Kramer of Milan, OH; four grandchildren, Noah, Luke, Carter and Grayson; a sister, Kathleen (Bill Tordi) Van Sickle of Huron, OH; and his nieces and nephews.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, William M. "Bill" Kramer.
Visitation will be held Friday morning, January 7, 2022, from 9:30 am until time of the Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 429 Central Avenue, Sandusky. Fr. Zachary Brown officiating. It was his wish to be cremated following the service. Inurnment will take place at a later date at the Calvary Cemetery Columbarium, Sandusky.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made in his memory to St. Mary's Catholic Church, 429 Central Avenue, Sandusky, OH 44870 or to the Sandusky Central Catholic School Education Foundation, 410 W. Jefferson Street, Sandusky, OH 44870.
Arrangements are entrusted to the David F. Koch Funeral and Cremation Services, 520 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky.
