Rodney D. "Ronnie" (Wallace) Heiland, 71, of Sandusky, passed away early Wednesday morning, April 16, 2025, at Firelands Regional Medical Center, Main Campus, Sandusky.
He was born on January 22, 1954, in Vermilion, OH, Ronnie had both a biological family and an adopted one, as he was adopted at the age of 9 years old with his biological brother, Kenneth "Kenny" who he lived with his entire life.
Ronnie had two daughters, Lisa (John) Burgdorf and Kimberly (Jeffrey) Smith; along with 5 grandchildren, Kristen (Marcus) Brown, Savannah Wells, Payton Burgdorf, Preston Burgdorf and Jennifer (Ruben) Rubio; four great-grandchildren, Layla and Alanna Brown, Elena and Sonny Rubio; a niece and nephew that he helped raise as if they were his own, Christopher and Kayla Heiland.
Ronnie had made it very clear that he wanted no after life services, just to be cremated.
Arrangements are entrusted to the David F. Koch Funeral and Cremation Services, 520 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky.
