Robert G. "Bob" Parker, 79, of Norwalk, passed away peacefully from natural causes early Friday evening, May 19, 2023, at the Fisher-Titus Medical Center, in Norwalk, OH.
Born on September 27, 1943, in Sandusky, OH, he was the son of George and May (Truman) Parker and graduated from Sandusky High School in 1961. Bob was a veteran, having served honorably in the U.S. Air Force, and was a lifetime member of the AMVETS Post # 17, in Sandusky. For several years he was a car salesman for the Ford Motor Co.
Over the years Bob enjoyed fishing, vegetable gardening, attending church with his wife, Ann. He also liked to see movies at the Star View drive-in in Norwalk. He was a member of The Potter's House of Norwalk church and was baptized there in April of 2021. In 2011, Bob received his diploma from the Rhema Bible School and, in 2014, he became an ordained minister through the National Association of Christian Ministers.
He is survived by his daughter, JoDee M. (Robert C.) Fountain of Orlando, FL.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ann M. Spencer-Parker (July 29, 2022); and his sister, Elizabeth "Betty" Butcher (January 10, 2009).
It was his wish to be cremated. A celebration of life will be held for Bob on Saturday, July 1st at The Potter's House of Norwalk, 11001 US 250N, Milan, Ohio, at 11:00 am.
At his request, the celebration will be hosted by his close friend, Pastor Rick Kennison of Milan.
The family suggests that memorial contributions may be made in his memory to The Potter's House of Norwalk.
Arrangements are entrusted to the David F. Koch Funeral and Cremation Services, 520 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky.
