Rita A. (Schott) Ohlemacher, 90, of Sandusky, passed away peacefully early Tuesday morning, July 20, 2021, in the Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky.
Born on June 10, 1931, in Sandusky, OH the daughter of Karl Wendelin and Amelia Theresa (Bussman) Schott. She was a 1949 graduate of St. Mary's High School. She was a homemaker. Rita, over the years, enjoyed playing cards, baking and spending time with her family the grandchildren and the great-grandchildren.
She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.
Rita is survived by her three daughters, Carol (Leonard) Matz of New Castle, PA, Nancy (Larry) Kaman of Sandusky and Diane (Terry) Gundlach of Monroeville; 11 grandchildren, Emily, Michael, Kevin, Sarah, Mary, Matt, Joseph, Dennis, Joshua, Tyler and Rachel; 16 great-grandchildren, Caitlyn, Kylee, Aaron, McKenzie, Tanner, Lincoln, Greyson, Elizabeth, Annabel, Abigail, Nathaniel, Noah, Luke, Aubryn, Braxton, and Jack; and her nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 56 years, Paul W. Ohlemacher (2010); three sisters, Mary Hennessy, Marjorie Cleveland and Loretta Wilt; and a brother, Donald Schott.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 22, 2021, from 5-7 pm at the David F. Koch Funeral and Cremation Services, 520 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky. Prayers will be recited Friday morning, July 23, 2021, at 9:30 am at the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 428 Central Avenue, Sandusky. Fr. Monte Hoyles officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Sandusky.
