Rita Ann Grodi-Conley

Rita A. Grodi-Conley, 81, of Sandusky, passed away peacefully early Monday evening, May 15, 2023, surrounded by her family at her home after an illness.

   Born on November 9, 1941, in Cleveland, OH the daughter of Dorothy Braeunig.  Rita had worked at Sandusky Plastics for over 30 years, retiring in 1997 and later for a few years she was a cook at the Lutheran Memorial Home..   Over the years she had enjoyed spending time with her family, the grandchildren and the step grandchildren.

   She was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church and the Sandusky Eagles AERIE # 444.

   Rita is survived by her daughter, Debby S. Keen and her children,  Angela Flores, Geri Newberry, Amber and Jerome Gillman; and the children of her late daughter, Deanna England, David and Robert England; and several grandchildren and  great-grandchildren; stepsons, Darwin J. "Buddy" Grodi, Jr., Steve, Bill, and Chris Conley; stepdaughters, Laura Ann Walker, Deborah K. Gremling, Kimberly Sue Dion and Lisa L. Shoemaker, Tammy Conley;  and her faithful companion, her cat "Max." 

   She was preceded in death by her mother; her first husband, Darwin Julius Grodi, Sr.; a daughter, Deanna M. "DeDe" England; a grandson, Lance Corporal James Kennedy; her second husband, Augusta Conley; and stepson, Jack Conley.

   Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 21, 2023, from 4-6 pm at the David F. Koch Funeral and Cremation Services, 520 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Rita on Monday morning, May 22, 2023 at 10 am at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 510 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky.  Fr. Zach Brown officiating.  Entombment will be in the Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum, Sandusky.

   The family suggests that the memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Humane Society of Erie County, 1911 Superior Street, Sandusky, OH 44870 or to one's favorite charity.
