Ricky Lee Ferdinandsen

 Ricky Lee Ferdinandsen, 56, residing in Sandusky, went peacefully to be with the Lord early Wednesday morning, June 30, 2021, surrounded by his family in the Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky, after a lengthy illness.
   Ricky was born on September 22, 1964, in Sandusky, OH to the late Frederick Olaf "Moak" and Dorothy Marie (Neidler) Ferdinandsen.  He was a roofer by trade for many years.  Ricky loved to spend time with his children, but especially with his "Papas Babies."   He was the type of person to do anything for anyone in a "Heartbeat."  Ricky was the kindest of man you wanted to be around.  He loved to ride his "Harley" all around town and everyone knew it was him when he passed on by you.  Ricky also loved to sing, he was also a member of the MBK4LIFE LL &  R Group.  Over the past couple of years, with the Group, it made his "Heart" fuller."  This Group of Brothers and Sisters became just like family to him.  Ricky truly had a "Heart of Gold" and had been totally loyal to them.
   He is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 25 years, Theresa M. (Ebeling) Ferdinandsen; his four children,  Amanda (Shawn Batch) Ferdinandsen, Steven (Amber Campbell) Sorrell, Ryan (Nicole Smith) Sorrell and Brandon (Amanda Fresch) Sorrell; 13 grandsons and 4 granddaughters; his brothers and sisters, Janice Mays, Cindy Esposito, Bill (Iva) Ferdinandsen, Dotty (Arnie) Wright, Terry Ferdinandsen, Kaylynn (Robert) Tobey; and numerous nieces and nephews.  
   Ricky was preceded in death by his parents.
   Visitation will be held Saturday, July 3, 2021, from 11 am until time of the funeral services at 1 pm at the David F. Koch Funeral and Cremation Services, 520 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky.   It was his request to be cremated following the funeral service.
   The family suggests that memorial contributions be made in his memory to the family.
