Peggy E. (Shelby) Windnagle

Peggy E. Windnagle, 90, of Sandusky, passed away unexpectedly early Monday morning, November 24, 2025, at Firelands Regional Medical Center, Main Campus, Sandusky.

   Peggy was born on January 18, 1935, in Sandusky, Ohio.  She was a 1953 graduate of Sandusky High School.  In her earlier days, she had worked as a telephone operator for the Ohio Bell Co.  and later worked at Grill Meats as a Quality Control Inspector, Arnold Palmer Motors, and then at Furry Elementary School cafeteria.

   Over the years Peggy enjoyed spending time with her family and the grandchildren.

   She was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic church and had also attended the Sorrowful Mother Shrine, in Bellevue, OH.

   Peggy is survived by her sons; Daniel (Sally) Windnagle of Scottsdale, AZ and Christopher (Deanna) Windnagle of Kodiak, AK, and daughter Lisa (Steve) Alexander of Graceton, PA, and her 10 grandchildren; Christopher (Julie)and Katherine Windnagle, Emily (Brent) Cairns, Caitlin Michaels, Heather (Kenny) Shields, Matthew (Leah) Windnagle, Megan Windnagle, Allie, Matthew and Julieann Alexander; and 9 great grandchildren, Willow, Zachary, Kenneth, Brandyn, Charlie, Christopher, Molly, Jacob, and Kolt, and numerous nieces and nephews.

   She was preceded in death by; her parents Thomas and Marguerite Shelby, her husband of 52 years, Ernest A. "Ernie" Windnagle on August 19, 2007, two daughters; Julie Ann Windnagle in infancy on July 4, 1959 and Renee Michaels on October 23, 2024, a brother, Thomas Shelby, and her stepparents, Lester & Lenore Syrstad.

   Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, from 4-7 pm at the David F. Koch Funeral and Cremation Services, 520 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky.  Prayers will be recited Wednesday morning, December 3, 2025, at 9:40 am at the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 510 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky.  Fr. Chris Turner officiating.  Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Sandusky.
