Paulette Lee Marie (Pszenny) Porter

Paulette Lee Marie (Pszenny) Porter, 71 yrs. old, of Sandusky, passed away peacefully early Saturday afternoon, December 3, 2022, at her home.   
   She was born on September 5, 1951, in E. Cleveland, OH the daughter of Frank John Pszenny.   Paulette graduated with her Bachelors and Masters Degree in Elementary Education and Early Childhood from Western Illinois University.  She started her teaching career as a kindergarten teacher at St. Nicholas Elementary School in Illinois, then she went on and taught at Harrison Elementary School in Lakewood, OH.  Paulette later taught in the Sandusky Public Schools for 25 years at Campbell, Monroe and Hancock Elementary Schools, before retiring in 2004.
   Paulette has been a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Delta Kappa Gamma, Phi Delta Kappa, the American Women Business Association and the College Women's Club of Sandusky, Ohio.
   She is survived by her brother, Tom (Mary) Maniaci of Milford, OH; her identical twin sister, Paula (David) Peterson of Warrenville, IL; her nieces and nephews, Carrie (Randy) Reams, Michael Maniaci, Rachel (Benedict) Hane, William Peterson and Stephen (Katie) Wobser; her great nieces and nephews, Alice Wobser, James Reams, Nathaniel and Lucia Hane;  special friends, Karen Wilson, David and Cathy Wobser, both of Sandusky ; her companions and treasures, dogs, Chipper James and Isabella Maria. 
   Paulette was preceded in death by her father; her husband of 35 years, James D. "Jimmie" Porter (February 2, 2013); her sister, Frances McMillan; and great niece, Genevieve Franciska Hane.
   Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 11, 2022, from 4-6 pm at the David F. Koch Funeral and Cremation Services, 520 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky.  Prayers will be recited Monday morning, December 12, 2022 at 9:40 am at the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 510 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky.   Fr. Joseph Steinbauer officiating.  At her request, cremation will take place following the service.  Inurnment will be held at a later date in the Calvary Cemetery Columbarium, Sandusky.
   The family suggests that memorial contributions be made in her memory to the St. Vincent DePaul Society or to Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 510 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky, OH 44870.
