Paulette A. (Westerhold) Grahl, 90, of Sandusky, passed away Wednesday morning, September 14, 2022, at the Commons of Providence Memory Care, Sandusky.
Born on July 3, 1932, in Sandusky, OH the daughter of Paul Jacob and Violet "Viola" Catherine (Gundlach) Westerhold. She was a 1950 graduate of St. Mary's High School. Paulette was a 1953 graduate of the Providence School of Nursing and went on to receive her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from The Ohio State University School of Nursing in 1959. For over 20 years she was on the faculty of the Providence School of Nursing before retiring. In 1996, Paulette received "The Woman of Excellence" Award presented to her by Providence Hospital. Over the years she had enjoyed traveling, gardening and attending concerts and plays, with her husband Elmer.
Paulette was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church where she was a member of the choir. She also had been a member of the Sandusky Bonsai Club, the American Association of University Women and had been a member and past board member of the Old House Guild.
She is survived by a special cousin, Tom (Mary Lou) Gundlach; and numerous other nieces, nephews and cousins.
Paulette was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 52 years, Elmer C. Grahl on June 28, 2013; her sister-in-law, Jean Grahl; and a brother-in-law, Jim (Lois) Grahl.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday morning, September 20, 2022 from 8:30 am until time of prayers at 9:30 am at the David F. Koch Funeral and Cremation Services, 520 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10 am at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 429 Central Avenue, Sandusky. Fr. Matt Frisbee and Fr. Jacob George officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Sandusky.
