Paul ‘Doug’ Douglas Conley

  Paul D. "Doug" Conley, 68, of Castalia, OH passed away peacefully early Monday morning, March 7, 2022, with family at his side at Firelands Regional Medical Center, Main Campus, Sandusky, after a brief illness.
Born on September 1, 1953 in Portsmouth, OH, the son of Harry "Ralph" and Thelma Louise (Bowling) Conley.  He was a veteran having served honorably in the U.S. Air Force.  Doug was a truck driver having driven for various trucking businesses throughout the years, but more recently for PGT Trucking and later for Republic Services, before retiring in 2019.
   He enjoyed going fishing, boating, hunting, and watching his TV shows; especially NASCAR and the Cleveland Browns. 
   Doug was a member of the Four Conservation League and the  AMVETS Post # 17.
   He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Michelle M. (Didion) Conley; his daughters, Paula (Jeremy) Rogers and Bridget (Chris) Welch, both of Franklin Furnace, OH and Brandy (Bryce) Funni of N. Royalton, OH; a son, Robert (Lindsay) Lewis of Castalia, OH; 7 grandchildren, Leslie, Jonathan, Cody, Brogan, Brennan, Parker and Kamryn; a great-grandson, Kasen; 3 brothers, Ralph E. (Violet) Conley of Clarksville, TN, Oscar L. (Sharon) Conley and Edward D. (Pat) Conley both of W. Portsmouth, OH; a sister, Dinnia (Charles) Walker of South Shore KY; and his nieces and nephews.
   Doug was preceded in death by his parents.
   It was his wish to be cremated.  The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 10, 2022, from 4-7 pm at the David F. Koch Funeral and Cremation Services, 520 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky.  A memorial service will be held Friday morning, March 11, 2022, at 11 am at the funeral home.  Rev. Wally Gilbert officiating.
   The family suggests that memorial contributions may be made in his memory to one's favorite charity.
