Paul Joseph “Joe” Allen, born September 13, 1955, age 66, passed away peacefully of natural causesThursday, September 16, 2021, surrounded by family.
Joe was born in Sandusky, Ohio, to the late Paul G. and Marilyn F. (Herb) Allen, attended St. Mary’s elementary, and was a 1973 graduate of Sandusky High School.
Although retired, over the past 5 years he drove for a local taxi service. He enjoyed his time in the van he affectionately referred to as ‘Big Red’.
Joe loved to cook and year round you could find him at his grill, cooking up a feast for family and friends. He looked forward to fishing weather and was a hardcore Pittsburgh Steelers fan.
Joe was a loving, giving, kind soul, who was loyal and adored his family, especially his daughter and grandchildren. Joe lived his life unapologetically and he celebrated living his life out loud! His generous spirit, his quick wit, and his genuine love for all of us will be sorely missed.
Joe is survived by his daughter, Stephanie (Allen) Slack, her fiancé, Brian Rockhold, granddaughters, Alyssa and Mia Slack, and Grandson, Bryson Rockhold, Spokane, Washington.
Brother, Scott (Charlene) Allen, Hilliard, Ohio
Sisters, Marjie Allen, Sandusky, Ohio
Julie Ann (Robert) Castello, Sandusky, Ohio, and
Susan (John) Borso, Vermilion, Ohio,
An Aunt and Uncle, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins, 2 great nephews and a great niece arriving in December.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Marilyn Allen, his daughter, Kaitlyn, in infancy, and a brother, Toby, in infancy.
It was Joe’s wish to be cremated. The family will hold a private celebration of Joe’s life.
His philosophy ….. “Leave ‘em laughing, baby!” We’re sure that memories of Joe will have us laughing until we meet again. In lieu of donations, the family requests that you raise a glass in his memory.
