Paul A. Farrar, Jr., 83, of Sandusky, passed away unexepectedly late Thursday morning, November 7, 2019, at his home.
   Born on December 16, 1935, in Monroeville, OH the son of Paul Anthony and Lillian Consuela (Deno) Farrar, Sr..  Paul was a 1954 graduate of Clyde High School.  He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy having served honorably on board the U.S.S. Caloosahatchee  during the Korean Conflict (1954 - 1958) in the Mediterranean Sea. Paul had worked as a pipe fitter and welder out of the Union Local Hall # 776, Lima, OH,  for 35 years, retiring in 2000.
   He was an active member of the the Sandusky Elks Lodge # 285 and a former officer at the Lodge, in years past he had been involved with youth baseball and fishing activities.  Paul also had been a member of the Italian-American Beneficial Club and past president. 
   He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Barbara J. (Merkle) Farrar, whom he married on January 18, 1956; his daughter,  Amy (Richard) Grubbe of Huron Twp.; and his son, Craig (Jennifer) Farrar of Apple Creek, OH; his three grandchildren, Sam, Ben and Sophie Farrar; and numerous other relatives.
   Paul was preceded in death by his father, Paul A. Farrar, Sr.; his mother, Lillian (Deno) Wright; his step-mother, Angeline (LaMarca) Farrar; a sister, Rosemary Pocock; and a brother, Charles Farrar, Sr..
   It was Paul's wishes to be cremated.  The family will receive friends on Thursday morning, November 14, 2019, from 9 am - 11 am  at the David F. Koch Funeral and Cremation Services, 520 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky.  Private family graveside services to be held at Oakland Cemetery, Sandusky. Rev. Mel Sayler officiating. Military honors will be conducted by the U.S. Navy and the American Legion Post # 83 Color Guard.   
   The family suggests that memorial contributions be made in his memory to the Sandusky Elks Lodge # 285 Youth Fund, 120 E. Adams Street, Sandusky, OH 44870 or to the Sandusky Public Library, 114 W. Adams Street, Sandusky, OH 44870.
