Ozello Anne "Dolly" Ehrhardt Obituary

Ozello Anne "Dolly” Ehrhardt, 90, of Sandusky, passed away after a lengthy illness on Aug. 22, 2024, in memory care at Parkview Health Center.

She was born July 6, 1934, daughter of Eugene and Mary (Goldsmith) Grimes in Aquasco, Maryland.   Dolly graduated from Gwynn Park High School Brandywine Md in 1952 and Franklin Square School of Nursing, Baltimore Md in 1955. In Nursing School, she was known as “Shorty” and loved to dance.  She worked 39 years as an RN doing what she loved to do, helping people.  She worked at Norfolk VA General Hospital before moving to Sandusky after marrying local Navy man Jerry Ehrhardt.  Dolly worked 35 years as an OB Nurse at Good Samaritan and Firelands Hospital in Sandusky, retiring in 1994.  Her commitment serving families and newborns was the joy of her working life.  She took pride in training new OB Nurses throughout her career.  Positively touching many lives in Dolly’s career, she is well known in the Sandusky area to many mothers and health care providers. Dolly was a loving caring woman and spent much of her time helping her grandchildren grow into fine adults.  She loved babysitting them in their younger years and attending their many school and sporting events.

Dolly was a member of The Chapel Church Sandusky and The Firelands Hospital Auxiliary where she was a volunteer.  She was also a dedicated Cleveland Cavalier basketball fan attending many games in the 90’s.

She leaves to cherish her memories, husband of 68 years, Jerry Ehrhardt, sons Michael (Kim) of Waterford MI, Mark (Debbie) of Mathews NC, and Matt (Susie) of Sandusky, grandchildren Jordan (Brooke) of Monroe NC, Bryce (Kaitlyn) of Denver CO, Bryin (Victoria) of Delaware OH, Brittany (Ryan) of Akron OH, Danielle (Luis) Valdiviez of Woodland CA, Ogden Moss of Archbold OH, and Jeremy (Sarah) Moss of Manchester NH, seven Great grandchildren, and eight nieces and nephews

Dolly was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Eugene Grimes Jr.
