Norma E. (Seder) Higgins, 90, of Sandusky, passed away peacefully late Friday morning, February 11, 2022, with family at her side at Firelands Regional Medical Center, Main Campus, Sandusky.
Born on June 29, 1931, in Sandusky, OH the daughter of Norman Joseph and Eloise Minnie (Bechtold) Windau. She was a 1949 graduate of St. Mary's High School. In her earlier days she had worked at the Scott Paper Co. for a few years and later went on to raise her family. After raising her family she had worked at Wal-Mart for nearly 20 years.
Norma enjoyed spending time with the family and the grandchildren, but she will be remembered by the family how she loved to cook and bake, especially her cutout cookies for Christmas season or any other Holiday, they were very special. She was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church where she was quite active on a variety of committees at the church over the years.
Norma is survived by her two sons, John L. Seder, Jr. and Donald N. Seder both of Sandusky; her daughter, Carolyn S. (David) Harrison of Huron Twp., OH; eight grandchildren, John III, Kristina, Joseph, Bethaney, Donald, Jr., Alyssa, Jenna and Jacob; her two great-granddaughters, Joelee and McKenna; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John L. Seder, Sr. on March 12, 1968; three daughters, Jacque Davlin, Diane Seder and Cathy Seder; and her four sisters, Mary Brotzki, Rose Huff, Connie Hoffman and Jeanette "Nettie" Barnes.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 16, 2022, from 4-7 pm at the David F. Koch Funeral and Cremation Services, 520 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky. Prayers will be recited Thursday morning, February 17, 2022 at 9:30 am at the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am at Holy Angels Catholic Church, 428 Tiffin Avenue, Sandusky. Fr. Zachary Brown officiating. It was her wish to be cremated following the service. Burial will be held at a later date at Calvary Cemetery, Sandusky.
