NoraLee Therse (Shiets) Subcasky

 Surrounded by her family, our beloved mother, NoraLee "Nora" T. Subcasky, 98, of Sandusky, passed away peacefully following a brief illness early Tuesday afternoon, October 29, 2024, at her residence, under the care of the Commons of Providence Assisted Living and Stein Hospice Care.

   Born on  July 8, 1926, in Fremont, OH, she was the youngest of six children of Albert Shiets and his wife, Alice Jones.   At age 16, she began to work at Apex Manufacturing Co., in Sandusky.  She remained there until the factory closed.  While working at Apex Co. she met the love of her life, Robert "Bob" Subcasky.  They were married in Sacred Heart Church, in Fremont, on February 8, 1958, and were married fifty three years.

   After marrying, NoraLee was a homemaker, raising two children.  She enjoyed her family and friends, cooking and baking, gardening, and reading.  She volunteered for many years at the Community Supper Program and at Care & Share.  She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, in Sandusky.  

   NoraLee is survived by her son, David (Patsy) Subcasky of Sandusky. Granddaughter, Ariana (Mike) Bowen, great grandson, Charlie, of Powell; a daughter, Lisa (John Haas) Subcasky of Huron; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

   At her request, private family graveside services to be held.  Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Sandusky.
