Nancy J. Dingus, 87, of Sandusky, passed away peacefully late Saturday afternoon, May 8, 2021, with family at her side at her home.
Born on June 5, 1933, in Copper Creek, VA, the daughter of John and Maggie (Hicks) Monk. For many years, Nancy had worked as a waitress at several local restaurants. She enjoyed spending time with her family and working on jigsaw puzzles.
Nancy was a member of the Wayside Temple, she truly loved her church and singing in the choir.
She is survived by four daughters, Deb (Dave) McDowell, Della (Danny) Robinson, Sarah Pelz and Cathy Beaver; nine grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 48 years, John S. Dingus (2000); a son, Clifford S. Dingus (1967); two granddaughters, Cherie and Danielle; four sisters; and five brothers; and her son-in-law, Bill Pelz (2021).
Visitation will be held on Friday afternoon, May 14, 2021, from 1 pm until time of the funeral services at 2 pm at the Wayside Temple, 3809 Maple Avenue, Castalia, OH. Pastor Rusty Yost officiating. Burial will be in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made in her name to the Wayside Temple or to the Firelands Christian Academy, 3809 Maple Avenue, Castalia, OH 44824.
