Michael White Obituary

Michael G. "Mike" White, 75, of Huron, passed away late Sunday morning, August 14, 2022, at University Hospitals of  Cleveland, in Cleveland, OH after a battle with esophageal cancer.
   Born on November 10, 1946, in Sandusky, OH the son of George Malcolm and Marjorie Josephine (Andres) White.  He was a 1964 graduate of St. Mary's High School and later attended John Carroll University, in Cleveland, OH.  Mike worked at Delphi Inc. for nearly 40 years, as a tool and die maker, before retiring.
   He enjoyed spending time with his kids and the grandkids and attending their many sporting and other social activities.  He loved to golf and had been a member of several golf leagues over the years and also went on many golf outings, with his buddies, to Myrtle Beach.  Mike achieved the ultimate accomplishment in golfing by having a Hole-in-One on #15 at Thunderbird Golf Course (South).  He was a longtime fan of the Cleveland Indians, Browns, The Ohio State University Buckeyes and the University of Notre Dame Fighting Irish.
   Mike was a lifelong member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, a member of the U.A.W. Local # 913, the Sons of the American Legion Post # 83 and the C.H.S.A.F. (Catholic High School Athletic Federation) and past president.
   He is survived by his wife of nearly 55 years, Thelma M. (Kopp) White, whom he married on September 2, 1967; his two sons, Jeff (Joyce) White of Lorain, OH and Brian (Mary) White of Raleigh, NC; his daughter, Maureen (Mike) Burger of Willard, OH; 10 grandchildren, Jeremy, Jason, Joey, Ethan, Ross, Evan, Emma Kate, Easton, Natalie, and Jonathan; his brother, Bob (Mary) White of Ghanna, OH; two sisters, Connie (Fred) Rockwell of Milan and Terrie (Bill) Ehrnsberger of Port Clinton, OH; and his nieces and nephews.
   Mike was preceded in death by his parents; a brother-in-law, Mike Capizzi; and two sisters-in-law, Lisa Johnson and Barb White.
   It was his wish to be cremated.  The family will receive friends on Friday, August 19, 2022, from 4-7 pm, a prayer service will be held at 7 pm (with a time to share memories) at the David F. Koch Funeral and Cremation Services, 520 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday morning, August 20, 2022, at 10 am at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 510 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky.  Fr. Zachary Brown officiating.
   The family suggests memorial contributions may be made in his memory to Stein Hospice, Inc., 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, OH 44870; the Victory Temple Soup Kitchen, 1613 Hayes Avenue, Sandusky, OH 44870 or to the Sandusky Central Catholic Athletic Boosters Club, 410 W. Jefferson Street, Sandusky, OH 44870.
