Michael L. "Mike" Albert, 61, of Sandusky, passed away early Thursday evening, July 2, 2020, in the Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky, after a brief battle with cancer.
Born on January 13, 1959, in Fremont, OH the son of Donald Lamar Albert and Patricia Ann (Karr) Day.
Mike has been working for the past 17 years at the Meijer Store, Sandusky, in shipping and receiving. Over the years, he loved working on cars, especially his "Rot Rod" and attending local car shows. Mike has also been an active member of the "Dedication Car Club," the Ohio Chapter.
He is survived by his mother, Patricia A. Day of Sandusky; his daughter, Ashlee R. (Daniel Norrup) Albert of Huron; a grandson, Cohen A. Nemitz; his significant other, Esther Frasher of Sandusky; and other relatives.
Mike was preceded in death by his father.
It was Mike's wish to be cremated. His family will receive friends on Wednesday evening, July 8, 2020, from 6-8 pm at the David F. Koch Funeral and Cremation Services, 520 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky. Due to the COVID-19 health concerns, wearing of masks and social spacing will be recommended. If you're uneasy about attending, please feel free to leave a message to the family on the website.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made in his memory to Stein Hospice Service, Inc., 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, OH 44870 or to one's favorite charity.
