Mary Ann Dickman

Mary Ann Dickman, 66, of Castalia, passed away peacefully early Saturday afternoon, August 17, 2024, after a lengthy illness.

   Born on September 14, 1957, in Sandusky, OH the daughter of Robert Jay and Nancy Ann (Gast) Dickman.  She was a 1976 graduate of Margaretta High School.  Mary had worked for nearly 35 years at Sandusky Packaging Corp. before retiring. 

   She will be remembered by her family for how she enjoyed watching all types of sports and was an avid baseball card collector.   In her earlier days, Mary had been a Girl Scout Leader and had played in a variety of softball, volleyball and basketball leagues, and later went on to coach these sports in the junior and senior high level at Margaretta.

   She was a member of the Sandusky Community of the Nazarene Church where she had been a Sunday school teacher for several years and a member of the softball team. 

   Mary is survived by her mother, Nancy A. (Gast) Dickman; and her brother, Brian (Linda) Dickman; and several aunts, uncles and other relatives.

   She was preceded in death by her father, Robert J. "Bob" Dickman (2013); her maternal grandparents, Leroy and Mildred (Morey) Gast; her paternal grandparents, Oscar and Eulalia (Buddenhagen) Dickman; and other relatives.

   Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 21, 2024 from 4 -7 pm and on Thursday morning, August 22, 2024 from 10 am until time of funeral services at  11 am at Sandusky Community Church of the Nazarene, 1617 Milan Road, Sandusky.  Rev. Keith A. Martinez officiating.  Burial will be in Castalia Cemetery, Castalia, OH.

   The family suggests that memorial contributions be made in her memory to Stein Hospice Service, Inc., 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, OH 44870 or to the Sandusky Community Church of the Nazarene, 1617 Milan Road, Sandusky, OH 44870.

   The arrangements are entrusted to the David F. Koch Funeral and Cremation Services, 520 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky, OH.
