Mark Merle Hudson

 Mark M. Hudson, 56, of Sandusky, passed away peacefully early Wednesday afternoon, August 18, 2021, with his family at his side, at Firelands Regional Medical Center, Main Campus, Sandusky, after battling COVID-19.
   Born on April 7, 1965, in Sandusky, OH the son of George John and Janet Merlyn (Fairfield) Hudson.  Mark was a 1983 graduate of St. Mary's Catholic High School and later graduated from Bowling Green State University.  Over the years, Mark had owned and operated his own pizza shop and had also worked for other shops in the local area for many years.
   Mark had considered the Sandusky Artisans Co-Op, his "Home Group" as a member of AA for over 25 years he had helped sponsor ("Peer Support") many others that had faced  similar struggles in their life.  He will be remembered by his family for his smile and how he always had a positive attitude as he faced many trying times in his own personal life. 
   Mark was an active member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church and had been a member of the Knights of Columbus Council # 546.
   He is survived by two sisters, Terry (Wayne) Kaye of Port St. Lucie, FL and Judy Hudson of Sandusky; and a brother, Steve Hudson of Sandusky.
   Mark was preceded in death by his parents.
   It was his wish to be cremated.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Mark on Monday morning, August 23, 2021, at 10 am at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 510 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky.  Fr. Zack Brown officiating.  Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Sandusky.
   In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made in his name to the Sandusky Artisans Co-Op, 138 E. Market Street, Sandusky, OH 44870.
