Lynn M. (Guerra) Capizzi, 63, of Sandusky, passed away late Monday evening, May 31, 2021, at Firelands Regional Medical Center, Main Campus, Sandusky, after a brief illness.
Born on July 4, 1957, in Sandusky, OH the daughter of Paul Henry and Margaret Ann (White) Guerra. She was a 1975 graduate of Sandusky High School. Lynn was a stay-at-home mother and was truly dedicated to raising her children and the grandchildren that she loved dearly. Her family will remember her for how she enjoyed watching movies and different entertainment shows with her son, but she really loved to sing, cook, read (especially novels) and how she had actually read thousands of books over the years. When she cooked, she cooked for everyone, she would enjoy having parties with her family and friends so that everyone could enjoy the food that she had made, as well as, her different recipes that she would try on others.
Lynn had been a member of the Italian-American Beneficial Club where she had played Bocci for many years and had made a lot of pizza sauce for the Club. Another one of her proudest accomplishments was that she was an avid Blood Donor for the American Red Cross ( a member of the 10 Gallon Club) and that she was known as one of the top donors in the local area.
She is survived by her father, Paul H. Guerra of Sandusky; her two sons, Joseph Capizzi II and Paulie Capizzi both of Sandusky; eight grandchildren, Mya, Olivia, Ruby, Reese, Maci, Vincenzo, Autumn and Joey III; her stepson, Oscar Capizzi of Sandusky; her stepdaughter, Lovette Maltrich of Sheffield Lake, OH; her sister, Lori (Mark) Schmiehausen of Sandusky; nieces and nephews; and her cat, "Kooie."
Lynn was preceded in death by her mother, Margaret A. (White) Guerra (2015).
It was her wish to be cremated. A "Celebration of Lynn's Life" will be held on her birthday which is coming up.
The family suggests that memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the American Red Cross, 404 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky, OH 44870 or to the Humane Society of Erie County, 1911 Superior Street, Sandusky, OH 44870.
Arrangements are entrusted to the David F. Koch Funeral and Cremation Services, 520 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky.
