Laura Jean Gillingham

Laura J. "Lala" Gillingham, 60, of Sandusky, passed away peacefully late Sunday afternoon, March 27, 2022, surrounded by her family in the Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky.
   Born on September 1, 1961, in Sandusky, OH the daughter of George Thomas "GT" and Marilyn Jean (Cann) Gillingham.  She was a graduate of Sandusky High School and later attended Bowling Green State University.   Laura was very family oriented and loved spending time with her family, the grandchildren and her nieces and nephews. She was a true people person and loved working with others.  Over the years, she had worked at Providence Hospital and the Providence Care Center in the dietary department.  She had been a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church. 
   Laura is survived by her daughter, Lauren Jones; and a son, Tony Jones, Jr., both of Sandusky; 4 grandchildren, Tryson, Layla, Rosalynn and Liam; a sister, Judith Gillingham of Vermilion; two brothers, Michael (Tammy) Gillingham of Orlando, FL and Joseph Gillingham of Sandusky; and her nieces and nephews.
   She was preceded in death by her parents; and a nephew, Matt Gillingham.
   It was her wish to be cremated.  A funeral service will be held on Saturday morning, April 2, 2022, at 11 am at the David F. Koch Funeral and Cremation Services, 520 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky.  Chaplain Mel Sayler of Stein Hospice officiating.
