Larry L. "Scooter Man" Ulery, 65, of Sandusky, passed away peacefully early Thursday morning, April 9, 2020, at the Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky.
Born on July 13, 1954, in Connellsville, PA the son of William Irvin and Maxine Marie (Caswell) Ulery. Larry was a 1973 graduate of Sandusky High School. He was a veteran, having served honorably in the U.S. Army. For many years, Larry had worked at Sandusky Metal Products and later at Farrell - Cheek Steel Company.
He will remembered by many as the Monroe and Pearl Street "Scooter Man," as he had piloted his electric wheelchair around the neighborhoods in the local area for several years. Over the years, Larry had also shot pool in the Erie County Pool League for a variety of local establishments.
Larry is survived by his daughter, Amber (Robert) Callipare of Elyria; his three grandchildren, Logan (Kalie), Caiden and Mason; his sister, Sharon (Jeff) Slomsky of Bellevue; his five brothers, Richard "Rick" (Ann) Ulery of Norwalk, William (Brenda) Ulery, Ron (Terri) Ulery, Chris Ulery and Randy (Theresa) Ulery, all of Sandusky; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a special friend, Mary Donovan.
It was his wish to be cremated. A "Celebration of Larry's Life" will be held at a later date due to the current Coronavirus pandemic restrictions.
Interment of his cremains will be held in Oakland Cemetery, Sandusky, at a later date.
The family suggests that memorial contributions may be made in his memory to Stein Hospice Service, Inc., 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, OH 44870 or to the Humane Society of Erie County 1911 Superior Street, Sandusky, OH 44870.
