Kathleen F. (Lozier) Savage, 87, of Sandusky, passed away early Monday morning, October 9, 2023, at Firelands Regional Medical Center, Main Campus, Sandusky.
She was born on December 9, 1935, in Detroit, Michigan the daughter of Leo and Elizabeth (Shemanski) Strause. Kathleen was a graduate of Danbury High School. She had worked at New Departure-Hyatt Inc. (Division of General Motors) for 15 years, before retiring. Kathleen loved spending time with the family and her grandchildren. She also enjoyed making crafts and attending the different craft shows around the area. For 30 years she had owned a spot, a trailer, on Bay Point, in Marblehead, where she loved the water and taking walks on the beach. Kathleen had also been a member of the Venice Heights Card Club playing together for 60 years.
She was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church and a former member of the V.F.W. Post #7572 Ladies Auxiliary, in Marblehead, and the American Legion Post # 83 Ladies Auxiliary, in Sandusky.
Kathleen is survived by her daughter, Sharon (David) Lozier-Ulmer of Sandusky; her two grandchildren, Christopher Ulmer of Sacramento, CA and Courtney Ulmer of Huron; a sister-in-law, Faye Sherry of Marblehead; and her nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Raphael "Ray" Lozier; and a brother, John Sherry
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 14, 2023, from 11 am until time of the funeral service at 1 pm at the David F. Koch Funeral and Cremation Services, 520 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky. Deacon Jeff Claar officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Sandusky.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made in her memory to the Humane Society of Erie County, 1911 Superior Street, Sandusky, OH 44870.
