Karin Wightman Obituary

Karin S. Wightman, 76, of Huron, passed away peacefully late Sunday evening, January 26, 2025, with her sister at her side at her home.

Born on October 31, 1948, in Marion, OH the daughter of Joseph Oliver and Vanetta Lucille (Quinn) McKnight.  She was a 1966 graduate of Port Clinton High School.  Karin had worked at Sandusky Memorial Hospital (later known as Firelands Hospital) in patient billing, for over 20 years, before retiring.

She'll be remembered by her family for how she enjoyed quilting, sewing and cooking.  Karin especially loved to travel... if it be to Alaska or to different countries over seas, she just had a passion to visit different countries around the world.  She also looked forward to going out for lunch on Tuesday's with her "Lunch Bunch" group, which were her co-workers (retirees) from the hospital days.

Karin is survived by her sister, Jo Ann Martin of Sandusky; her nephew, Don (Cindy) Lane of Sandusky; her two nieces, Jennifer (Nolan Kelly) Lane of Salt Lake City, UT and Kari Ann Lane of Talmadge, OH; and two great-nieces, Julia Paige Schreck and Vanessa Marie Lane.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

It was her wish to be cremated.   Private family services are to be held for her at Sackett Cemetery, Danbury Township, OH.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made in her name to Stein Hospice Service, Inc., 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, OH 44870

Arrangements are entrusted to the David F. Koch Funeral and Cremation Services, 520 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky, OH.
