June C. (Brunner) Schell, 94, of Sandusky, passed away peacefully Friday afternoon, May 21, 2021, with family at her side in the Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky.
She was born in Castalia, OH on June 21, 1926, to Gabriel and Ella (Reno) Brunner and had lived most of her life in the Sandusky area. June graduated from Margaretta High School in 1944 and went on to work at the Trojan Powder Company, before working at the Medusa Cement Company in Bay Bridge, OH for many years. She also taught dance at the Arthur Murray Dance Studio in the early 1950's. Over the years, June had enjoyed playing bingo at the Senior Center.
She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church where she was a volunteer with the wake committee of the church.
On April 24, 1954, June married Raymond O. Schell, who preceded her in death on May 24, 2010.
June is survived by two sons, Eric Schell and Mark (Kristine) Schell, both of Sandusky; her five grandchildren, Logan (Alexis) Schell, Alex Schell, Ryan Schell, Tristan Schell and Lauren Biglin; and three great-grandchildren, Aubrey Bella Schell, Isaac and Raelyn Schell; a sister, Lorene Andres of Huron; and two sister-in-laws, Beverly (Schell) Ales of Pleasanton, CA and Marlene Hatch III of Brandon, FL; and her nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 56 years, Raymond O. "Ray" Schell; and a sister, Virginia Strasser.
It was her wish to be cremated. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday morning, May 28, 2021, at 10 am at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 429 Central Avenue, Sandusky. Fr. Philip Feltman will be officiating. Inurnment will take place in the Calvary Cemetery Columbarium, Sandusky, OH.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made in her memory to St. Mary's Catholic Church, 429 Central Avenue, Sandusky, OH 44870 or to Cancer Services of Erie County, 505 E. Perkins Avenue, Sandusky, OH 44870.
