June Estell (Bauer) Downs

June E. (Bauer) Downs, 96, of Sandusky, passed away early Tuesday morning, May 10, 2022, at the Parkvue Health Care Center, Sandusky, after an illness.
   Born on August 4, 1925, in Sandusky, OH the daughter of Carl and Irene (Graves) Bauer.   She was a graduate of Sandusky High School.  June had worked at New Departure-Hyatt Inc. (a Division of General Motors) for 30 years, retiring in 1982.  She enjoyed spending time with her family and the grandchildren and collecting antiques.
   June was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, the Women's Democratic Party and the U.A.W. Local # 913.
   She is survived by her daughter, Dianne McGee;  3 sons, David (Kathy) Downs, Doug (Donna) Downs and Jeff (Valerie) Downs all of Sandusky; 12 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and a great-great granddaughter; a daughter-in-law, Theresa (Walker) Downs of Kalamazoo, MI; and her nieces and nephews. 
   June was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Dana Downs (2018); 2 sisters, Arline Lockridge and Shirley Kessler; and her brother and sister-in-law, Carl (Pat) Bauer.
   Private family funeral services to be held.  Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery, Sandusky.
   The family suggests that memorial contributions may be made in her memory to ones favorite charity.
   Arrangements are entrusted to the David F. Koch Funeral and Cremation Services, 520 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky.
