Judith A. "Judy" (Weber) Rhode, 69, of Sandusky, passed away unexpectedly early Saturday morning, July 16, 2022, at Firelands Regional Medical Center, Main Campus, Sandusky. Judy was born on July 2, 1953, in Sandusky, OH the daughter of Leo Paul and Dorothy Mary (Engelhorn) Weber. She was a 1971 graduate of St. Mary's High School.
Judy will be remembered by one and all for her love of musical theatre, auto racing and boats. Judy had a very infectious laugh, and a smile and heart to match. Judy possessed a kindness for all of those she came in contact with and genuinely loved everyone around her. Judy was all things for all the people all the time. Ed and Judy were the love of each others lives and for several decades she had worked with her husband, as a legal assistant, at Rhode Law Offices.
Judy found Christ at an early age and was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church. Judy was a member of the Rattlesnake Island Club and the Sandusky Yacht Club.
She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Edward W. Rhode, III; her daughter, Elizabeth E. "Liz" (W Jeffrey) Rhode Barrett of Sandusky; her grandson, Ethan and she has another grandchild on the way; her three sisters, Mary (William) Heck of Clintonville, OH, Karen (James) Dubbert of Sandusky and Kathy Ordway of Bellevue; a brother, Mark G. Weber of Swanton, OH; and her nieces, nephews and cousins. Judy was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 24, 2022, from 4-7 PM at the David F. Koch Funeral and Cremation Services, 520 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky, and on Monday morning, July 25, 2022, from 10 AM until the time of the funeral services at 11 AM at Zion Lutheran Church, 503 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky. Deacon Carolyn Steinfeldt officiating. Entombment will be in Oakland Cemetery Mausoleum, Sandusky.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made in her memory to Zion Lutheran Church, 503 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky, OH 44870.
