John "Nort" Thompson, 63, of Sandusky, passed away unexpectedly early Tuesday afternoon, November 3, 2020, at his home.
Born on June 6, 1957, in Sandusky, OH the son of Harold "John" and Helen Elizabeth (Volz) Thompson.  He was a 1975 graduate of St. Mary's Central Catholic High School.  John had worked at the Ford Lorain Assembly Plant, for 30 years, retiring in 2006, at the age of 49 years old.
His passion in life was his family; and fishing, boating, gambling, and sports. And family will remember him as the most easy-going person ever.
John is survived by his sweetheart and wife of 43 years, Sally A. (Weigel) Thompson, whom he married on October 14, 1977; his children, Matthew (Heather) of Sandusky, Malia of Las Vegas, NV, Marcus and Maxwell Thompson of Sandusky; 4 grandchildren, Cambryn Farrar, Brea Thompson, Ace and Axl Thompson; a sister, Debra L. (David) Beeker of Gibsonburg; 4 brothers, Daniel J. (Kay) Thompson of Castalia, David C. (Colleen) Thompson of Columbus, James W. (Kathy) Thompson and Ronald J. (Patricia "Petie") Thompson of Sandusky; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 grandsons in infancy, John and Caine Thompson; his in-laws, William "Bill" and Jane Ann (Miller) Weigel; and his pet dog, "Flury"
