John "Jack" Adelbert "Delbert" Sharpe, 67, of Sandusky, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday afternoon, November 12, 2024, at his home.
Born on July 11, 1957, in Sandusky, OH the son of James Ray and Nancy Marie (Heiler) Sharpe. Delbert spent his life dedicated to his family, friends, and work. A graduate of Sandusky High School, he was known for his warm personality and natural ability to make people laugh, which he shared with others during his many years as a manager at the East Side Cafe.
Delbert is survived by his beloved mother, Nancy Sharpe; his sister, Candy Howman; and brothers, James (Cathy), Dan, and George Sharpe. He leaves behind cherished nieces and nephews, including Jen, Jon, Anthony, Kelli, Dan, and Stephanie, along with great-nieces and nephews, Jakob, Jillian, Joseph, Carter, Sam, Ari, Brixon, Cameron, Addison, and Ayden; also he leaves behind his dear friend, Deb Gonzales, who held a special place in his heart.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Sharpe; and a brother-in-law, Dean Howman.
It was his wish to be cremated. The family will receive friends on Monday afternoon, November 18, 2024, from 2 pm until time of the memorial service at 4 pm at the David F. Koch Funeral and Cremation Services, 520 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky. Deacon Jeff Claar officiating. Interment will be held at a later date in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron, OH. Following the services, a celebration of life will be held immediately after at the Boeckling Club, 614 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky, where family and friends are invited to gather.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations can be made in Delbert's memory to the Humane Society of Erie County, 1911 Superior Street, Sandusky, OH 44870 or to the Sandusky Artisans Recovery Center, 138 E. Market Street, Sandusky, OH 44870.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew him.
