John Wright, 88, of Sandusky, Ohio passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on Friday, August 12, 2022. John was born on October 6, 1933, to Ezra and Hattie “Coochie” Wright in Paintsville, Kentucky, the youngest of eight children. He was a graduate of Wheelersburg High School and married Elaine Ruth Sparks on September 10, 1955. John worked at the Ford Motor Company, eventually retiring from Ford in 1992. Together they had six children, John David (Carol) of Sandusky, Jeff (Leah) of Sandusky, Mike (Carrie) of Sandusky, Susan (Danny) of Wheelersburg, Ohio, Tom (Christine) of Milan, Ohio, and Chris (Brandy) of Sandusky. John is survived by his loving wife of 66 years along with their six children, fourteen grandchildren and thirteen greatgrandchildren, and his sister Juanita (Gene) Fresch and many nieces and nephews. John was proceeded in death by his parents, as well as his siblings, Bud Wright, Dovie Sauer, Norma Smith, Garnet Mauk, Junior Wright, and Wade Wright. John truly loved life, he loved spending time surrounded by family and friends, sharing a laugh. He loved being outdoors and tending to his garden. Most importantly though, through his study of the Bible, he came to have a deep love for his Heavenly Father, Jehovah God. In February 1970, he dedicated his life to Jehovah God and was baptized in Ashland, Ohio. He spent many faithful decades sharing Bible truths and studying the Bible with others. John had a strong faith in God’s promises for the future, including the earth being restored back to a paradise and a resurrection of the dead. John loved talking about God’s Kingdom and the blessings that it will bring to mankind. One of his favorite Bible verses to share in the door-to-door ministry was Revelation 21:3, 4 the promise that God “will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more.” A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, August 20, 2022 at 2:00 PM at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 5014 Hayes Avenue, Sandusky, Ohio and via videoconferencing on Zoom. Greg Seavers will officiate the memorial services. To attend via videoconference please call: (419) 515-4229. Condolences and cards may be sent to 5819 Schenk Road, Sandusky, Ohio 44870.
