Joel Adam Cummings

 Joel A. Cummings, 50, of Sandusky, passed away unexpectedly late Saturday morning, November 26, 2022, while vacationing in Aruba.
   Born on June 17, 1972, in Sandusky, OH the son of James H. and  Karen P. (Neidler) Cummings.   Joel was a 1991 graduate of Perkins High School.  He later went on and received an  Associate Degree in Marketing from Terra Tech, then an Associate Degree in Business from Bowling Green State University and finally an Associate Degree in Applied Technical Science and an Associate Degree in Electric Utility Technology from the Lorain County Community College.  Joel was known as a super hard worker and been employed by Ohio Edison for the past 15 years and, prior to that, he had worked at the Sandusky Ford Motor Company for over 10 years.
   He will be remembered by his family for always having a smile on his face and how he was loved by everyone around him and how easily he made friends wherever he went. Joel enjoyed travelling and all type of sports, especially The Ohio State Buckeyes, the Green Bay Packers and the Chicago Blackhawks.  He also was a certified scuba diver.
   He was a proud member of the First Energy I.B.E.W.S. Local # 1194 and the U.A.W. Local # 1216.  Joel also was a member of the V.F.W.  Post # 2529 and the Sandusky Orioles Club Nest # 279.
   He is survived by his daughter, McKenzie K. (Jeremy) Wahl; a son, Cade A. Cummings; the mother of his children, Amy Cummings; his parents, James and Sandy Cummings; 3 brothers, James (Brenda) Cummings, Bryan (Sharon) Cummings and Brian Parker; a sister, Amanda (Geoff LaMarca) Parker; and his aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and along with his friends too numerous to mention.
   Joel was preceded in death by his mother, Karen P. (Neidler) Cummings; a brother, Kevin Cummings; and his maternal and paternal grandparents.
   Visitation will be held on Friday, December 9, 2022, from 2-7 pm at the David F. Koch Funeral and Cremation Services, 520 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky and on Saturday morning, December 10, 2022, from 10 am until time of funeral services at 11 am at Faith Church, 1320 E. Strub Road, Sandusky.  Rev. Eric M. Lapata of The Chapel officiating.   It was his wish to be cremated following the service.  Interment will be held later at Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron, OH.
   The family suggests that memorial contributions may be made to one's favorite charity.
