Jeffrey Smith Obituary

Jeffrey M. Smith, 54, of Elyria, OH passed away peacefully late Friday afternoon, May 5, 2023, at University Hospitals, in Cleveland, OH after a lengthy illness.

Born on March 23, 1969, in Sandusky, OH the son of Joseph Harry and Paulette Marie (Roth) Smith, Jr.. He was a 1988 graduate of Sandusky High School. Jeff enjoyed cooking and just relaxing, since he wasn't able to work due to all of his health issues.

He loved WWE Wrestling, and his favorite pastime was watching any of their events on the TV. Jeff was also an avid fan of the University of Michigan Wolverines and he felt fortunate enough to at least be able to see them beat The Ohio State Buckeyes two years in a row. He also enjoyed collecting movies of all sorts and spending time with is family.

Jeff is survived by his sister, Lisa (Alberto) Rodriguez of Elyria; three brothers, Kevin (Rachel) Smith of Tiffin, Eric (Alicia) Smith of Toledo, and David (Jacklyn) Smith of Berlin Heights, OH; a niece, Carissa Graham of South Carolina; a nephew, Logan Wright of Elyria; his great nieces, Kennedy and Lily; and great nephews, Jackson and Joseph; and several other nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews, as well as, several other family members.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his maternal grandparents, Theodore and Louise Roth; his paternal grandparents, Joseph and Shirley (Ferdinandsen) Smith, Sr.; a niece, Shelby Rodriguez; and a cousin, Greg Browne.

Private funeral services to be held. Burial will be in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron, OH.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made in his memory to the Kidney Foundation of Northwest Ohio, 3100 W. Central Avenue, Suite 250, Toledo, OH 43606.

Arrangements are entrusted to the David F. Koch Funeral and Cremation Services, 520 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky.
